Independent, pharmacist-owned, Meadowlark
Pharmacy should be personal.
Acme Drug Mart is an independent pharmacy in Edmonton's Meadowlark neighbourhood, established 2023. We're small enough to know your name and the names of every medication on your shelf, and properly equipped enough to handle compounding, prescribing, and weight management on site.

Our story
Built for the gap.
We opened to fill the gap between overwhelmed family doctors and impersonal chain pharmacies. Most patients fall into it. Need a UTI assessment but can't get a same-week doctor's appointment? Want contraception advice without a referral? Need a clinical pharmacist to walk through your medications properly?
Alberta gives pharmacists the broadest scope of practice in Canada. We just decided to actually use it.
Timeline
From a corner shop to clinical care.
-
2023. Opened in Meadowlark.
Personalised dispensing, free delivery, a single private consultation room. We focused on knowing every patient by name from day one.
-
2023. Expanded scope prescribing.
Pharmacist obtained Additional Prescribing Authorization. We started assessing and prescribing for minor ailments same-day, no referral needed.
-
2024. Free delivery citywide.
We extended delivery to every Edmonton postal code, no fee, no minimum, hand-delivered by our team.
-
2026. Weight management.
Full GLP-1 program: assessment, prescription, follow-ups, drug-plan paperwork. Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro under one roof.
Mission
Personalised care, not pharmacy-as-vending-machine.
Large chains run pharmacy on volume. We run it on relationships. The result is a slower counter conversation, a more thorough medication review, and a pharmacist who actually has time to take a question.
Values
- Patient-centered care
- Integrity and trust
- Excellence in service
- Community engagement
- Evidence-based guidance
- Unhurried consultations

- Built-in follow-up
Network
Independent, but not alone.
We're part of the Remedy's Rx network: a Canadian-owned cooperative of independent pharmacists. We share buying power and clinical resources with hundreds of other pharmacies, while keeping ownership and decisions local. Same purchasing leverage as a chain, none of the chain-store policies.
